Even before the losses of Scottie Lindsey and Nate Taphorn I thought this was going to be the toughest matchup for NU. Isaac Haas and Caleb Swanigan are just monsters down low, and I fear that Dererk Pardon, Gavin Skelly and Barret Benson will get into foul trouble. And if you double them down low, Purdue has 3-point shooters to make you pay.

If I were Collins, I'd go with a big lineup to start -- BMac, Law, Lumpkin, Pardon and Skelly (or even Benson).

Little help Lou, who are the eight scholarship players who we still have healthy to play tonight ?

Well.... if NU is supposed to roll over and die, no one told them that! Great defense to start.

You can see their game plan. They are keeping Pardon outside to take Swanigan out of the paint, and he's either taking the outside shot or putting it on the deck and taking him to the hole. Defensively, they are doubling Swanigan and Haas immediately. Swanigan has three early turnovers, Haas has one.

So far, so good.

So much for that good defense. PU made an adjustment and we better figure it out quick

PU no longer feeding the paint, but rather working it around outside to get the open 3 and they're hitting them. We just don't have the shooters on our side.

Skelly just has to cheat less towards the inside so you can cover the three point shooter . Simple adjustment . Good time out

Didn't like our rotation. BMac is going to have to play more minutes.

Law can't get open especially with no other shooting threat out there.

Down by 8, Skelly called for walk. Need to settle down.

Down eight in the late first half, offense it looks bad due to unusual player combinations and Purdue defense. Ash and law both spent some time standing still on offense , have to fix that!

That was quick. Down 16 after a few more threes . Skelly sagging back to help in the paint and they are shooting over him

This sucks. We're getting embarrassed. Fuc%in' basketball gods.

Or one piece of good news is the play by Benson . Great work on the offense of boards, including one nice put back . Battling on defense . Lots of upside for this young player .

I think Law is standing around too much. Needs to move to get into the offensive flow.

We are getting killed on both ends. Now granted, Purdue is shooting lights out. Even when the D is ok, they are hitting them. This is the perfect storm against us.

We're basically facing the perfect storm right now. Down to 8 scholarship players, refs won't let us be the least bit physical in the post and Purdue is ridiculously hot from 3
