Fitz to the JETS ??? 😳

That's just stupid. What's in it for Fitz? A bigger paycheck for 3 years and dealing with all of the NFL crap and all of the NY media crap? He's turned down better options, mostly recently Green Bay.

Conspiracy theory. Fitz WILL NOT leave NU until he has achieved his ultimate goal, and while that is not known to us, it is high. You think he is satisfied with a B1G West championship? Stop the nonsense.

IMHO, the mindset of Pat Fitzgerald and his collegiate coaching career path is one that is and has been modeled after State Penn's Joe Paterno.

Without a doubt, IMHO, Fitz is a lifer. In a nutshell, the needle on his personal moral compass is magnetically aligned in the direction towards which he realizes that he is making an impactful & lasting difference in and around those people and institutions that he loves. And to be perfectly frank, his heart and his ambition is, first & foremost, on the happiness and growth of his bride & their kids, followed by his immersive dedication to the advancement & improvement of his Alma Mater's football program (which he views as a sacrosanct and a living, immutable entity solely dedicated to the advancement/improvement of those who independently chose to affiliate themselves with - i.e.: Northwestern University and its students and student-athletes), then followed closely by his coaching staff and his players who are under his mentorship for only 4-5 years (or less) of their formative lives.

Not many people on this planet can state with utter and complete confidence & conviction that they have found their trued calling in life and have gathered a cartel of people about him who honestly love him in much the same way - totally and without any reservation. He realizes that he is a VERY lucky man indeed in his current situation. He ain't going nowhere else - near term or far....

What would Mike Greenberg think?

Fitz was on Greeny's radio show Monday and Mike set up the segment by stating that he was going to interview his favorite coach.

But hell no - the Jets have already negatively impacted one former Cat already.

Fitz to the Jets gets covered in an SI mailbag today. Nothing we haven’t read before.

Basically, Fitz is under consideration for many openings, but it takes two to tango. Interesting comment about some management teams believing in his ‘program-building’ model in the NFL, which obviously involves a longer-term view. Breer speculates that the Jets won’t interest him.
