Game Thread: Northwestern vs. No. 2 Ohio State

You guys are clowns. You couldn’t spot a a good young developing QB if a young Joe Montana was standing in front of you. Lausch was outstanding during that drive. The other guys are pretty damn good and I am not going to fault Lausch for trying to make a play. That was a great hit from behind. Give them credit without taking anything away from Lausch.
You remain an a-hole who knows a lot less about NU and football than you think, CC.

Yeah, these guys are good.

Hopefully we can pull off a win against Michigan and/or Illinois.

Too bad this is how the half ends. It looked like we could avoid a blowout, but not anymore

Right back at you. Remember this exchange next year when Lausch develops into an upper echelon Big Ten QB and clowns like you develop amnesia while jumping on the bandwagon. I’ll be around to remind you.

This game is silly. Kudos to our kids for fighting hard, but let's just move to an NFL minor league system. Teams like OSU aren't college programs.

It is conceivable that NU is scoreless in the second half and OSU puts up 4 more td’s. Ryan Day being the not nice man he is, I can see OSU scoring even more than that.

The D played pretty well that 1st half. There were some great catches by the WR's from Ohio State on some very tight coverage by our DB's and safeties.
Only gave up 14 pts. that half. Can't do anything about that bad snap on the punt that ended up on our one or two yd. line.

We gave up a literally free TD. Had we not done that perhaps it wouldn’t have caused such a momentum shift and we hold them off, maybe it’s like 10-7 going into halftime. Now with them getting f the ball after halftime I feel like the team is preparing for an immediate 28-7 and are just going to go totally flat. This could’ve been a hotly contested game well into the second half, instead it will be a second string snoozer for OSU.

Too bad we had some key plays that went sideways otherwise this could be a lot closer at the half. Turnovers/self-inflicted wounds have really hurt and deflated an otherwise impressive and competence 1sf half by the Cats. The bad snap that gave the Buck their 2nd td was esp. a killer play.

Why would any of that change in H2? These are NFL players and make few mistakes. Howard is pretty good, but he won't make any mistakes without pass pressure.

Gonna be tough to come back from that 2nd Quarter

It pisses me off that the ball ALWAYS seems to bounce Ohio State's way when we play the Buckeyes. We've had breaks go our way against other elite schools in the conference over the years, but luck never favors us versus the Buckeyes.

Turner could've picked that pass off if he'd watched the qb instead of staring at the receiver.
Yeah, really poor decision. So many close plays in this game that haven't gone NU's way. Even a deflection there would have forced a punt.

That was dangerous. Lucky Cam didn't get hurt on that face mask penalty. Ohio State cheating again and being dirty about it.

I like how Braun seems to have gotten over the mantra re Lausch "he's not a running back". Eff that. Guy can run, let him run
