Tom Hruby is featured this week. It really is a must read story. One anecdote says it all about how mis-guided the NCAA is:

Now he sometimes drove back to Indiana, and sometimes he just crashed on a couch in the team's locker room. Incredibly enough, he will say, "I had to pay for all the nights I slept there because it was (deemed) an extra benefit (by the NCAA)."

Just amazing.

There are not enough superlatives. Wow!

Unfortunately, I cannot get through any of the longer articles on the nusports since they added that oversized Chicago skyline (that along with the top boarder blocks 1/3 of the page) and the non-stop scrolling text in the scoreboard at the bottom of the page pulling my eyes from what I'm trying to read. It's really bad web design. Like other articles, I started this one and just gave up after a couple paragraphs.

Sucks for you backdoor...you're missing out on a terrific article. I had no problem reading it whatsoever. You might to try one of the computers down at the library....maybe you'll have better luck there.

Backdoorpass, you have a point. Pretty distracting for us non-multi taskers.

Might I recommend something such as:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/clearly/iooicodkiihhpojmmeghjclgihfjdjhj?hl=en

Or on IPhone, activate "reader" mode.

Highlight all the text in the article. Press control C to copy it. Open up a word file and press control V to paste it in. Problem solved

Bravo, villox! The "Clearly" extension for Chrome is amazing! Downloaded and added in seconds. And the first test: the "He's An American Hero" story on nusports.com. Worked like a charm!

Thank you!

Welcome. There are some other options for making it more to your liking, if you right-click on the Clearly icon and go to Custom Theme. For example, I increased the "line width" and changed the background color to white (#FFFFFF).

These guys are 20-years old. They're doing what they're trained to do. This is their battle, really. It's not much different from me being trained to go to war. That's our battle. And you're tired. And you're scared. And you're body hurts. And other people might have gone down around you. It's not any different on a football field. Of course, it doesn't involve death and it doesn't have some global impact. But there is a correlation to it and it's a way for me to motivate, to push guys beyond what they're capable of, and I do that when it seems reasonable."

I will try to remember that next time somebody misses a block or drops a pass.

What a great guy, he has the heart of a 'wildcat'. His strength and perseverance must be an inspiration to the entire team.
