Have Cats slipped this year versus last?

It's now exactly 1 month since the original post, and it's pretty clear that the answer is no, we have not slipped. While Lindsey, Skelly, Cobb, Tap, and others have had moments during the late run, and while Mac was awesome earlier in the year, the big jump lately has been because of a new big 3: Olah (who is now actually a beast), Demps, whose shooting percentage is way up in recent weeks, and Law, who has become a versatile and effective 2 way player.

The future? How many of these 3, or 4 including Mac, are we losing for next year?

I think clearly, the answer is that we are better than we were last year. The true mark of where we are is, I believe, represented more by our last 7 games, rather than our previous X. The freshmen have grown up. They will be even better next year. Demps is a stone cold assassin in the clutch. We are adding significant size next year in JvZ, Falzon, and Pardon. I think we have a great chance to take the next step and be a tourney team next year - NIT at the very least, but that would be disappointing in my view. Olah will be a senior, stronger, and more confident building off his strong finish. He will be one of the best bigs in the league and unlike Eschmeyer, he will have lots of help, including down low.

There is nothing but goodness about where CCC has brought the program. Things are looking up, no matter how we do in the postseason. I like our matchup against IU - don't think they have an answer for Olah, and they struggled against the zone. If they shoot lights out for the entire game, they can beat us, but I like our chances. They return a couple players, so not sure if that changes the dynamic, but I like the match up.

Maryland? We almost beat them in January - we get another shot now. Who knows - anything can happen in March.
