How can you not play Pardon in the last 9+ minutes?!?!?

Not one minute!! That's incredibly disappointing!!

You send out a lineup with Demps, JVZ and Lumpkin, and you expect to keep up offensively? There's nobody to replace Demps (diploma, PLEASE!!). CC decided Taphorn doesn't even get a few minutes to see if he's on or off tonight. And ...?

CC needs offense desperately, and walked off the floor with several bullets left.

Olah is definitely a gamer, but the "old Olah” was front and center missing bunnies again. The announcers put it on his being limited by his injury, or rusty because of it, but we’ve seen the problem from a fully healthy Olah over the years. Some games he is a beast and some games he short-arms again and again. Beyond that, tonight we needed to see more of Pardon in crunch time; when Joey is at the foul line you know the odds are against us to get the key FTs.

Lumpkin was playing fantastic, just like last year at Maryland. His defense was phenomenal. But without Pardon, Im assuming Collins was "all in" with demps as our offensive jaugernaut. Plus Pardon cant hit foul shot. Then again, neither can the team or Joey. Joey played great D though.
I think pardon shouldda played but i can see the reasoning why he didnt...and collins was 1 free shot away from proving it wise.

This absolutely drives me nuts. He's been doing it for 4 years. HAS HE EVER PASSED ON A 2 ON 1 BREAK?!?!?!?!?!
maryland had so many turnovers that put us on fast breaks. Somehow the ball ended up mostly in demps hands but he never passed to others running the floor AND he didnt even get off any shots. Unless i forgot, i think he had 4 FBreaks with 3 with the ball being slapped out of bounce, and one where he got fouled and he threw up 2 bricks.

I remember asking someone how oliver never seemed to develop in football and i was told that he was married and hadnt the time necessary to develop properly. Demps got married as well and now has shared responsibilities. It shows.

It's astonishing how easily Pardon scored against one of the biggest and most talented front lines in the country. But the D wasn't so great last night.

Sitting at The Xfinity Center last night, I wondered why we did not make offensive and defensive substitutions. Granted there was not a lot of scoring ,so Pardon could have been stuck on defense occasionally, but he is an effective offensive rebounder.and can score on put backs.
I also wanted him on the court with the game on the line because I think he is our best center

The Xfinity Center is a beautiful facility-seats almost 18,000 with great sight lines. It is used for community events as well as for Maryland BB.

Too bad , NU and Evanston can't bury the hatchet and work on a joint project to benefit both the school and the community

We agree again docrugby. Think UNL and Lincoln have a similar arrangement.

I wish he had redshirted and by his senior year of eligibility we might wish the same thing. He's going to get better and better.

Watch the last 5 minutes that Pardon was in the game; not on offense, but on defense. Don't look at the ball, just watch him. Then do the same thing in watching JVZ. If you do that, I think you can then see why Pardon was not in the game in crunch time.

No way he should be redshirted. He is a top contributor, and frankly, I lament not having played him from the get go. He should be our starting center by now, by just productivity and ability.

In addition, hopefully in 4 years, we are better off giving the scholarship to a 5 star recruit rather than holding on to Pardon for a 5th year (which perhaps he might not even take, as in 4 years, I think there is a chance he may NBA bound).

Pardon is, without question, far superior than Olah. How Olah gets on the floor is hard to figure out when Pardon is asked to sit for long stretches. Well, we have 1 loss now because of it. Hopefully, Collins can bounce back and make the right calls. Olah is done, imo. When big men get foot issues, it takes forever. Olah can't hit a shot and is like 1 for 20 and killing us out there. I'd play Lumpkin, Pardon, JVG out there and keep Olah parked on the bench until, at the earliest the NIT.

Olah will get his range back and many of those missed layups and mid range shots will go in. He is just out of sync right now and his legs are not back. Pardon looks like he will be solid but he is often out of position on D. It was interesting seeing both in at the same time.

How do those words taste, Turk? Way to rush to judgement on a player coming off an injury. Kind of reminiscent of when you heckled Cam on the football board for not catching the ball after HE BROKE HIS FREAKIN' HAND!
