Barring further major injuries, we wlll be an NCAA tournament team this year. Seems odd that I would say that after a 15-point loss, but, in my mind, we are playing like we belong, and zero I saw, in my binge-watching today indicated to me that we would not be a top-5 BIG team. Even in a weak year for the BIG top-5 will be enough.

Feel free to call me a crazy polyanna though, and to bring up this post later if I am incorrect.

Tre was just terrible. You'd have to think he can't play any worse going forward. I'm not sure why we left him on court. This team is going to be very good this year though.

I agree. Statistically we rebounded with them and looked like we belonged. Difference in the game was our putrid percentage from 3 point land. If we just shoot 33% from 3 it's a ballgame.

Agreed, but Tre generally gets better as the season goes on, so not too worried here. Plus we have enough depth at guard now that he is no doubt being pushed in practice; obviously the practices are fairly intense, given Pardon's ability to move right into the lineup as if he hadn't missed any games.

Absolutely, wildcatpn. Lost by 13, outscored by 27 (33-6) from beyond the arc.

Note: Diamond Stone has hit 22 of 29 from the floor in the last 3 games, and tossed in 21 FT’s to boot. Pardon is 18 for 22 over 3 games. These two guys are going to have some epic battles in the future.

I still think you're a year off -- but it certainly doesn't make you crazy.

Probably just one more epic battle as Stone will be in the NBA next year!

big reason that we were outscored by so much from outside is that they had open looks in transition and we had well-defended shots at the end of the clock

Plus, they made a lot of deep threes. Watching the game, it seemed like they had 5 or 6 that were way beyond the line.

I have to go with Stupor here (from another thread). We will likely be better when TD is not here. He is a great athlete and could add a lot more if he was ready to dish when he drives. (Pardon is a great option in that regard) He has the worst FG % and 3pt% on the team but takes by far the most shots. The other night he was 4/16 and zero assists. He could be great but that would require shooting less and dishing more. He has to be willing to give it up. BMac by comparison had 9 assists last night even though no one was hitting.

Demps is one of our best athletes and as a result has to be on the floor. He is one of only a couple that can get their own shot. That said, he can also open up shots for others and his FG% and value to the team would be much greater if he would drive to pass more and to shoot less.
