Low/Mid Major Conference Tournaments

I guess my point is pretty simple, and actually it is much less then 48, Northwestern has nevr, ever been to theNcaa tournament. You do have a sokid football program without question. And a couple of good female athletic programs, but who cares about them. But your basketball program, and your baseball program play in horrid facilities and have been historically terrible. I think the NITis a major accomp;ishment for your progam in any year

This is about what I expect from an IU grad.

*UNC Wilmington may have received an at large NIT bid had Hofstra won the Colonial

**While Valparaiso and Monmouth have a shot at receiving at large NCAA bids, births for both squads would simply knock other NCAA bubble teams down to the NIT instead

***Northern Iowa was not projected to make the NCAA tournament and was at best, a long shot for the NIT heading into "arch madness". Even if Wichita State makes the NCAA tournament as an at large, UNI's NCAA bid bumps another NCAA bubble team down to the NIT.

****Gonzaga would have been a lock for an at large bid had St. Mary's won the WCC tournament
I haven't read all the comments, but instead of the NIT, what about being one of the 16 invitees to the Vegas16 inaugural tournament. The 2nd round through finals to be nationally televised (CBSSports) and I think the 1st round will be streamed. All games in a single neutral location; wouldn't that be a neat experience for players and some fans?
