Who predicted that 38 to 0 score last week. Wondering What Is your prediction for msu at Michigan this week. BTW, I think the Cats hand Iowa their first loss this Saturday. Fitz is a great coach who teaches great fundamentals & will get them back into a winning mindset. He broke my heart a few years back -maybe 1995 or 1996 with his play for NU against my Wolverines.

I don't think anyone predicted it. I wouldn't touch that Michigan-MSU game. I have no idea because anything can happen. My gut says Michigan wins, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see it go the other way. Yep, CYA.

Michigan's defensive front is great and MSU's oline is beat up. MSU lost a lot on defense the last couple years to the NFL and now Narduzzi is out of East Lansing. I thought the spread should be Michigan -8 and I was going to take Michigan thinking it would be 14-17 win for your wolverines.

Not so fast....Conklin and Kieler and Price will be back.
UM hasnt faced a superior QB wit a balanced attack.
MSU d-line will put pressure on Ruddock and he has a tendency to turn it over.

If Michigan plays at the level of its last 3 games., MSU has zero chance. However, if Michigan has a hiccup, MSU will take full advantage.

Okey dokey. I'll lay the points. How much you want?

I thought the Michigan defense had the ability to shutdown the Cat offense but I didn't expect the Michigan offense to do as well as it did. I think Michigan is the hot team but States has the experience and I also think NU underestimated Michigan, which no one will do from this point forward. The clear edge is definitely with Michigan at this point and I wouldn't bet against them but MSU isn't going to go down easy and it will be interesting to see how Michigan handles its second close game.

DocCat2's prediction from last week:

Mich 20 NU 0

Alvious's prediction from last week:

Northwestern 0
Michigan 38

I really hope I'm wrong, but I've got a really bad feeling about this game.

and I also think NU underestimated Michigan,
How could that possibly have happened, especially at Michigan? That game scared the heck out of me.

I do expect the 'Cats to be as focused as possible, now that they're back on planet earth.

I was proud my prediction was close, I didn't realize Alvious just nailed it!!!

I always predict us to lose. A lot of people accuse me of doing that just to vex and annoy. The reality is I do it out of superstition. Whenever I predict a victory we lose! So now I just predict losses and am pleased to be wrong when we win.

Last week, I genuinely suspected a shutout was coming. I watched the Wolverines previous few games and could tell their Defense was elite. I saw our offense continuing to sputter under a very inexperienced QB and pitiful receiving corps. Factor in the cream puff schedule we played, and the game was in Ann Arbor, and you could see the train coming!

I haven't seen Iowa all year, so I can't really say what will happen this week.

Keep doing your part! Whenever I wore my NU garb on gameday in year's past, we seemed to lose, so now I purposely avoid wearing purple on Saturdays, but save it for Celebration Sunday instead... except for last week.

Cream puff schedule? Stanford, Duke, Minnesota are cream puffs? REALLY STANFORD IS A CREAM PUFF? Our SOS is one of the top in the country. Yeah you're doing it to vex and annoy.

I stand by what I say. Stanford is the only quality team of the bunch. And it was the first game of the season and they may have been unprepared for us. Eastern Illinois is a joke. Minnesota sucks. Ball State sucks. Duke is below average. Not sure how you're measuring strength of schedule here.

I'm using Sagarian which ranks us as the #17 hardest schedule in the country, but hey, we agree that EIU is a joke. Here's a link with actual data:

I think everyone took Michigan seriously, but I also think we all underestimated them. They are really fricking good. I think they may end up winning the B1G, and perhaps getting to the playoff, expecially if Utah wins out. They lost by one score to a top 5 team on the road, in their first game under a new coach. If they played Utah again today, I think they'd dominate them.

Duke is the #25 team in the country and has just one loss. To us. They have a top 5 defense. In fact, the quality of the defenses we have faced is actually impressive. The only teams that had bad defenses that we played were Ball State - whom CT moved the ball at will during the 3rd quarter, and EIU (which was bad beyond belief). Maybe the O isn't quite as bad as I think it is, but one thing's for sure, we have been playing some teams that know how to play D. Another one coming up with Ioa this weekend.

FYI, I believe that Alvious predicted us to get blown out every week as sort of a reverse psychology prediction.

Tel us more. How many BIG had a tougher noncon schedule than us?
