Starting to feel like that 35-0 thrashing of Wisconsin in '95. Well, without the seven Wisconsin turnovers. The Cats are just dominating both sides of the ball in the 2nd half. Best half of football I've seen us play since...I can't even remember.
I'd love to hear a MR's opinion on what it means for a defense to get a shutout - even when the game is well in hand and the only remaining goal is to keep the opposition out of the end zone. If I recall in the Wisconsin game, they had the ball inside the five at the end, but it was very clear that they wanted that shutout bad. Was MR on the field there at the end of that game?
I remember CB Chris Rooney absolutely throttling Wisky's running back on the game's final play to preserve the shutout. It was a thing of beauty and a perfect and fitting end to the game.
I could not see the play in the northwest corner. I just remember the roar of the fans and knew the shutout was intact. It's fun if you get it, but not too important. I was not in as all our reserves were playing most of the 4th quarter and generally kicking the Wisky starters' butts.
