Exactly. We are not as bad as what we showed yesterday. Neither is Iowa or MSU. I do think we all overachieved our records and rankings which is why the games were not the best match ups. It did hopefully underscore to Fitz how woefully uncreative and unathletic our offensive scheme is to get us to the national level.
I'm afraid we are as bad. Outscored 123-16 in 3 losses. There is a major problem with being competitive against good teams. Stanford looks more and more like a unicorn game. NU had significant problems on offense last season (having already turned the page to 2016) and needs work leading up to 9/3/16.
Blowouts are going to happen when you have the worst passing offense in the country.
This years team was built to win close games with a solid D and running attack. Unfortunately even the best defenses in the country are going to have games in which they struggle. We just didn't have the horses on offense to pick up our D at any point.
