What a courageous season from this group. I have never seen a team endure season-ending injuries to 4 starters within 12 months. Yet this team had to face that. Then there was some really bad officiating at critical junctures of games. Ty has to heal up. Clayton burns his shirt. Nick gets mugged on a regular basis. KJ has to grow up very quickly.

The record does not show it, but this team has the heart of a lion and fight of a pit bull. In my mind, at least, they were an outstanding team. Probably CCC's best coaching job yet.

Impossible to feel any disappointment toward this group. Just love and respect. They represented the program with great dignity and professionalism.

So grateful for the past three seasons. What a ride.

Hail to Purple. Hail to White. Hail to thee.

Completely agree with the tone of the OP except for one thing, which I've seen so often, not just here.

That this was Collins' best coaching job yet.

NOTHING will beat 2016-17 due to the weight of history, convincing people they could do something that had never been done before, etc. There was plenty of adversity, such as completely butchering the ND game at the start of the season. Or Scottie Lindsey being so damn good, then getting mono. Or the Indiana loss right before the Michigan win.

It's also the only BTT Saturday appearance AND the only time we've won more than one game in a BTT.

So many firsts that year. Can only be The Pioneer once.

I agree with the Hungry Jack's positivity about the players.

I agree with your assessment of where this season ranks for Chris Collins. In my mind it is similarly disappointing to the final Nance/Young team, except this time there were a couple injuries to take some heat off the head coach. But he/we never really got it together this year - from a basketball execution perspective.
