Assuming "modest" payments become the norm for scholarship athletes in revenue sports, it will be interesting to see how athletes in non-revenue sports respond. I think this has pretty significant Title IX implications.

Kinda hoping it’s the end of “scholarship” collegiate sports. There simply isn’t enough money to go around for everyone that feels entitled to some.

That wouldn’t bother me either. I will say, this payment thing is only the beginning, and collegiate sports as we know it will change vastly in the next ten years.

Agree, I just hope that the change isn't in the direction of fewer opportunities for athletes. Redirecting money for revenue sports from coaches to players, good. Cutting non-revenue sports to maintain the status quo for revenue sports, bad.
