Nevada, who we play in our opener this fall, is getting a graduate transfer QB from Alabama. He never played at Bama but is a former 4-star recruit. He'll be competing with a guy who began last year as a backup but started the last four games after the original starter got hurt. The article also mentioned that Nevada will be going to an air-raid offense so we can expect them to pass a bunch.

I attended the 2006 game with Nevada in Reno that we lost. We should not underestimate them.

At least this one will be a Home game for us -- and then there is the fact that The Mojo Moose has already made a pregame appearance:

So, is there no statute of limitation on moose sightings? Any moose in the offseason is mojo for the season opener? That seems kinda silly. We take our superstitions seriously around here!

Maybe moose is temporarily switching allegiance to the basketball Wildcats.

Nevada is famous for inventing the pistol offense but the air raid offense is generally run out of the full-blown shotgun (need to give the QB the extra time to throw). So Nevada is abandoning what made them famous?

The Pistol was the brainchild of Chris Ault, who was head coach in Reno from 1976-1995 then again from 2004-2012. This is Jay Norvell's first year at the helm for the Wolfpack; his collegiate coaching background is largely in the spread offenses run by Kevin Wilson (where Norvell was assistant/co-OF and WR coach from 2008-2014) and last year under Todd Graham at Arizona State. Even Norvell's one-year stint at Texas in 2015 was a poorly-executed attempt at moving the Longhorns to more of a spread.

I saw the statute of limitations on the way to NY for the Bowl game

Don't worry about Cornwell. He had every opportunity to win the job at Alabama against decent but not insurmountable competition. Couldn't do it. In fact not even in the conversation at any point.

Saw their game with Purdue on TV this year. They have a LONG WAY to go before reaching the level they were at when we last played them.
