NU fell out after the Big Ten Championship game. There is no January 2nd poll anymore, they wait until the day after the CFP final.
That's just their FPI computer model. It doesn't matter for anything.Ah. Okay, but Northwestern isn't included in ESPN's new updated (post Bowl Games) Top 25. Were they on that list before the Bowl game?

Looks like a really ridiculous list. I feel dumber for looking at it. But what do you expect out of ESPN? I mean they are owned by Disney so they are into fairy tales. Mich moved up after getting their butt whipped, GA moved up after getting whipped. TX moved down? We are at #37 while WIS and IA are in top 20. Heck, Mich State is rated ahead of us.Ah. I have gotten to the point where, whenever someone uses s&p + to predict the outcome of our games, i ignore the article. For an even bigger laugh, check out the S&P+ rankings post-bowl season. NU moved up one spot to 77, while Utah is at ... 15?
Does S&P account for turnovers and field position?I have gotten to the point where, whenever someone uses s&p + to predict the outcome of our games, i ignore the article.
I will always be more interested in W&L than S&PDoes S&P account for turnovers and field position?

They can't even "predict" games that have already been played!
Perhaps their narrative would be NU didn't "deserve" to win because Utah gave the game away with all their turnovers.
You know, because NU's defense had nothing to do with any of them. /eyeroll.

At least we can HOPE that all but 2 of the coaches will have had some time to reflect on it and will vote themselves, instead of having else do the voting for them.Rankings will be out sometime tomorrow for AP/Coaches, so we'll find out pretty soon.
Expecting somewhere around #19-20 in both polls.
