OT: “Mightily”

I challenge you to find the adverb “mightily” in any context *except* immediately following a tense of the verb “struggle”. (Usually, it’s “struggled mightily”, but sometimes it’s “struggling mightily”.)

It is the weirdest sports jargon there is.

Usually, it’s talking heads. Here, it’s an honest-to-goodness newspaper beat reporter.

“Carolina's Kyle Allen struggled mightily as he completed 31 of 50 passes for 325 yards, no touchdown and four interceptions. He finished with a passer rating on 47.5.”

Try to use it in your daily life.
“How was work today?”
“Lost a client, spilled the coffee, and they took away taco tuesdays... I struggled mightily.”
