The players are still the ones he recruited and the interim coach is the one he chose.

Well, his team SHOULD be good, it was preseason #1. I think coaching matters and Coach K is one of the best of all time. Jeff Capel, not so much.....

Yes, and he made damn sure that the losses that year were tacked onto the interim coach's record, even though he was ostensibly still head coach and had been involved with the recruiting of those players. One of several reasons that, even though the guy can certainly coach Xs and Os, I don't worship at the Coach K altar.

I know all about Sam Gilbert. I know all about some of the dirty laundry in Coach K's closet as well. I just don't root for either Duke or UCLA and happen to disagree with your take on Wooden. I think that Wooden's achievements make him higher on the list. What's "hater" about that?
