OT: Woodson out

IU’s recent history of hiring Coaches is abysmal. I too don’t have a lot of confidence in IU getting the right Coach and then having patience with that Coach to change the culture.
Happened with our new football coach. We will see if Dolson gets basketball done right. Word is now out that this now his call and Quin Buckner and past players have no say in this. Look for one of these three guys to get the job, Dusty May, Chris Beard or Brad Stevens in no particular order. And NIL is huge at IU. Recruiting in the state of Indiana will change. Word leaking out is things are in place for a relatively quick higher so the transfer portal can be taken advantage of. I would say our football higher ended up being a slam dunk.

Speaking of arrogant, what an arrogant post. Indiana basketball hasn’t been relevant for years. Collins has all he needs as far as NIL at NU. But you want to know if he would be interested even though he wouldn’t be one of your top choices? When are Indiana people going to realize that the job isn’t what it used to be? 18-22 year old’s of today don’t even know what Indiana as a powerhouse looks like.
You are right, although we are one of only , I think, four Big ten teams to play in final four from what, 1999. I do not think NU has ever even sniffed a final four no less even make the round of 16. Your NIL not close to IU’s. If, and only saying if, we land one of three being talked about a lot, IU relevant in a hurry.

Interesting names. IU should have hired Pitino last time around. He is perfect for you, like Cig, he only cares about winning. He could legally use the money to build a contender quickly. He also could stand up to the goofy fanbase where Woody didn’t have the resume. He wins I googled it. He is old, but so is Cig.

I not sure why Dusty May would leave Michigan after one year, despite his ties to the state. Beard, is probably the most likely, but I wouldn’t be shaking in my boots ( unless I was his fiancée) if he took the job. He’ll do fine but not a slam dunk. Stevens would be a HR hire. However, not sure why he takes the job, when he is a GM of the NBA champions. Dealing with recruiting, NIL, transfer portal and especially the fan base that will turn on him at the slightest dip in performance. No thanks. Stevens seems to care about more than winning, so might not be a good fit. Indiana might not be the destination Job you all think it is.

May did not say no yesterday when he had multiple chances to say no in his postgamer. He graduated from IU. Stevens, according different solid sources has been talking with IU, and this time he has not said no , in an adamant manner. And Beard, that whole thing went away. Not sure if it really happened or not, but always innocent until proven guilty and he had ties to coach Knight. And with the right coach, IU will get back to not only bringing in top portal talent, but will again get the best of Indiana high school kids.

See you were doing fine, bringing some new info to the board, until you decided to attack NU. Now everything you say just comes across as the average delusional hoosier, we are God’s gift to basketball, fan.

It’s “hire” you moron.

You realize you’re going to end up “higher”-ing Shaka Smart or Kim English, right?

I think we're in agreement that if IU can hire a basketball coach that can get the team to an undefeated non-conference record and a 16-4 B1G conference record in his first season - the fan base will find him barely acceptable.

But if, like football, he then loses in the first round of the NCAA tournament, they'll probably start screaming about how he's a loser on the hot seat next season. Because IU fans be craycray.
