Are so very crucial. (Home against Ohio State, at Minnesota, then home against Wisconsin and Penn State.) We really need to win 3 of 4, because then begins an absurdly brutal stretch--at Maryland, at Indiana, home against Michigan State, at Iowa. If we win three of the next four, we can lose three of four in the brutal stretch and still be in position for a 500 conference record or better.

How to win three of the next four: Play defense. Make 3s. Teach Demps how to make an entry pass to an open Pardon.

If the 'Cats are to have any hopes of making the NCAA's, I think they have to win all the next four, and at least one of the next four after that. With their weak non-con schedule, I think it's going to take twelve conference wins (not including the Big Ten tournament) for the 'Cats to get in.

I agree completely. NU needs to step up and win these next 4 games. Otherwise, they really don't deserve consideration for the NCAA. Can they do it? Absolutely.

I doubt it would require 12 but 10 I would agree with.

Again, the difference between 10 and 12 all depends on who we beat. If we beat a couple top-50 teams, 10 might do it.

The NIT is Collins' unstated goal (reading into his comments and the non-conf schedule) ... and I think we need to get 3 out of the next 4 to make that happen. Even a split puts us at just 3-3 going into 4 very tough games.

One game at a time, heck, one play at a time, for that matter

You're absolutely correct wrestler.

OSU has just three players on its roster who WEREN'T at least 4 star recruits. NU has only two who were, and one is sitting out the year.

I like NU's chances tomorrow, but it won't signal the end of days if NU loses.

We really need this win against dOSU badly. They have talent but are ripe for the picking in our house. The students are back from break and hope they turn out full force for this game. Winning this game will show to me that we are legit contenders for The Big Dance this year.

A win will go a long way towards helping the resume, but a loss will really hurt. NU's toughest games are on the road @Iowa, @MD, @PU, @IU although with Blackmon done for the year that is the most likely winnable tough road game) and NU needs to beat a name opponent, which OSU definitely qualifies as.
