Rooting guide

Nebraska will probably win out with their weak schedule. NU needs to stay ahead of Wisconsin who still has to play Illinois and Purdue.

Basically if NU goes 3-1, they get a double bye and if NU goes 2-2 it comes down to tiebreakers.

Seems like the Bucknuts are our best hope at someone beating Nebraska this season given how they're playing right now. 12-8 is going to be really hard for us to get the double bye given the tiebreakers, unless something goofy happens like Indiana remembering how to play basketball and beating Wisconsin or Michigan having one last hurrah to take down Nebraska at home.

I'll go out on a limb and say Nebraska will lose both of its remaining road games. The Huskers are 1-7 on the road in conference play this season. Ohio State has beaten Purdue and Michigan State in the last week. They can take Nebraska at home. Michigan can beat them at home as well. I'll say Nebraska finishes 11-9.

I’d love to believe but Nebraska is playing really well right now

Eh. Their current four game winning streak consists of home wins over Michigan, Penn State and Minnesota, along with a road win at Indiana. Nothing overly impressive there. Again, one conference road win all season, and that was against a team (Indiana) that's in a death spiral.

This one is so huge. It's the toughest matchup Nebraska has left. It would suck for Nebraska of all schools to pass NU in the standings. Right now most unbiased observers would project Northwestern to finish at 12-8, and Nebraska is in a position to finish at 13-7.

NU will need to win at least one of its road games if Nebraska runs the table, though I think NU has the tiebreaker over Illinois at least right now.
