Final Update:
Stony Brook (check)
Hampton (check)
Arkansas Little Rock (check)
Akron (lost)
Steven F. Austin (check)
Weber State (check)
San Diego State (lost, but Fresno State probably would've gotten an NIT bid anyway)
Hawaii (check)
New Mexico State (lost)

Of the above, the only two that hurt our chances are Akron and New Mexico State, because the teams that beat them (Buffalo and CSU Bakersfield) wouldn't have been in the NIT had they lost, so two true "bid thieves" there. The rest went well though and we have a chance. Selection show tonight at 8:30 ET.

5 wins was a decent showing by the #1 seeds today (Akron, NMSU, and SDSU surprisingly lost), but the overall bid thief count is now up to 14 or 15, which is nearly half the NIT field. Hopefully, Arkansas-Little Rock will hold serve, but I think NU is going miss out this year regardless. Close, but no cigar.

FWIW, there are going to be some pretty decent mid majors in the NIT this year. I wouldn't be shocked to see one or maybe even two end up in Madison Square Garden.

Having lived in Bakersfield a few years ago when they joined the "new and not improved" WAC, I'm in a state of disbelief that they (the Roadrunners) are now in the NCAA tournament, while Northwestern is once again on the outside looking in. It is cruel and unusual punishment being a Northwestern Wildcats fan. CSUB, really?
