Season Rushing Statistics -
Justin Jackson - 1,033 yards. 17th best season. Among a number of others, yesterday Justin passed Jim Pooler '74, Bob Christian '90 and Tyrell Sutton '06.
For next week's game, we'd love to see him pass: Adrian Autry '97 (14 yards ahead), Byron Sanders '88 (29 yards ahead) and Greg Boykin '75 (72 yards ahead)
Career Rushing Statistics -
Solomon Vault - 246 career rushing yards. Vault is nearing 100th place. Interestingly, 100th place is held by current teammate Stephen Buckley with 265 yards.
Clayton Thorson - The 48 yard rushing day for Thorson vaults him into 84th place all time on the career rushing list with 360 yards. Among others that Thorson passed are the aptly named Sam Rushing and Faraji Leary. Brian Marshall and Tim Hill loom ahead. Though of course, a few sacks and Clayton could go backward.
Warren Long - A 52-yard day moved Warren up to 70th place on the all-time rushing list with 463 yards. Among others that Long moved past are Matt Reitzug and Adonis Smith. 17 yards in front of Long is the speedy baseball playing Arby Fields.
Justin Jackson - Jackson's 116 yard day moved him into 9th place on the all-time rushing list with 2,220 yards. Jackson passed Kain Colter yesterday. Jackson finds himself 245 yards away from Greg Boykin. Jackson is 254 yards away from Tyrell Sutton's record for most yards gained through the sophomore year. ** Important note - Officially, NU states that Jackson is in 8th place. The discrepancy is that my figures include the rushing yardage gained by Dennis Lundy, which for appropriate reasons is excluded from the official NU totals.
