Same old, same old

Great non answer. And I want a billion bucks...but that won't happen either. Also, Fitz is signed for how long? JP making AC decisions would cause Fitz to walk away? And we aren't likely to sign urban ever, so you are saying a hot mid major coach would pass on a big stage opportunity and big money because the AD stepped in a bad coaching situation and asserted some authority?

Sorry, not buying it.

Apologies as wasn't clear. More that if Fitz were ever to leave or be fired, such involvement from the AD would make it very difficult to find a decent replacement. Don't think Fitz would necessarily walk over it given his own contract, the facilities, etc., but might give him pause in signing another extension.

I would like his failure to deliver any notion of a championship to give pause to the AD before offering one.

That's nice.

Why? Do you propose retaining a middling coach that surrounds himself stubbornly with questionable coaches. Should he get another Raise? Should they tear up his contract today and replace with lifetime contract and 100 % annual raises?

Do you appear on the Forbes list and donate enough money for your name to be on the side of every prominent athletics building, plus other academic buildings? Because there's one guy who does and he's a BIG Fitz fan. Besides Ryan and others of similar stature, there aren't too many opinions that matter outside Shapiro and Phillips (also big Fitz fans).

Like it or not, and you clearly don't, "winning championships" is never going to be the singular metric by which head football coaches are measured at Northwestern.

Glad to hear Ryan strives for mediocracy. Wonder if he knows it...

He strives to have a head coach at NU who's particularly suited for the job.

Pretty sure a guy who started his own company and is how worth billions doesn't "strive for mediocracy" in anything he does.
