Posted yesterday....Rap is going to have to really fight for minutes and Brown is going to redshirt....and lots of other news about the team that you're probably not going to read anywhere else....ever.
Another gem from SB Nation. Any analysis of Johnny Vassar in that preview?
Thought he was going to start at lead guard.JV listed a one of the 4 players not returning for 2016-17.....

Pay attention, DaCat -- it's right after the piece on Ben Johnson.
Junk. Calling Pardon an "unknown commodity" and citing Law as one of the team's best players yet offering little/nothing on what he contributes?
I think Dererk is a question mark. He needs to work on playing defense without fouling. He can't contribute on the bench.
The Nebraska version would be nice.
I would agree. We have seen a really good Pardon and another that disappeared with foul trouble...but as a true frosh. This season should reveal what he is. The Nebraska version would be nice.
He is in that it is unknown what he will bring to team the Nebraska or foul trouble version.Yes, but he isn't an "unknown commodity."
That version would be All Big 10......
Yes, but he isn't an "unknown commodity."
What do you know? What is his baseline for this year? His ending stats for last year? Those stats normalized?
Think we can look for maybe something on the order of 8-10 PPG, 6 RPG and 1.5 blocks per game from Pardon this season. Would you agree?
I'm thinking 8 ppg, 4.5 rpg (6 would have put him 13th in the Big 10 last season, and AO only averaged 5.4) and 0.8 to 1 block (1.5 would have ben good for 6th last year). He will be improved but not a stat sheet stuffer I think.
Olah wasn't a good rebounder. He played soft. The one thing I noticed about Pardon (and correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know a THING about basketball) is that he really fights for boards. Yeah, he was wild and clearly raw, but I liked how he attacked the glass. Almost Olah's polar opposite. He plays kinda mean and Olah played too nice IMO

I agre with all your point. Give yourself credit, you know more about hoops than a few others on this board.....
Like me...
I think we might see the most un-NU like rebounding team in my lifetime. I agree that Pardon looks like a boarder. And Law cleaned up the Boards really well in year one. Mac is pretty good on the boards for a PG and Lindsey has that length and leaping ability. Not sure about Falzon - but I bet Pardon and Law clean up the boards like nothing we have seen in purple.
"un-NU like" is the perfect way to put it. Soft, scrawny sissies from the years past. Pardon is NOT that. Neither was JVZ, but his coordination was just really bad. Exciting time to be an NU hoops fan

there's a difference between being soft, and being slower and lacking fluidity. And I don't want to compare NU players too much.
Pardon moves towards the ball before it comes off the rim. He has that instinct. His arms gather in the rebound like a cobra strikes. And he has hands the size of hub caps. He's formidable.
Yeah but olah was also soft. If I had that frame I'd be starting in the MLB, NBA, and NFL if I wanted to
Sure you would tough guy. You'd be a bad ass 7 1 shortstop in MLB.
