Sports Illustrated Article

If someone posted this already, I am sorry. But this is a really good read and gives a ton of insight into NU hoops. There is even a bone for the Carmody haters so in a way, I regret posting it.

For the Carmody supporters, there was a nice article in the Tribune earlier this week about Taphorn and Lumpkin. It said that Carmody was very aggressive in recruiting Taphorn (attended 4 games in a row) and that Sanjay's parents were very grateful that Carmody did not burn his redshirt even though the team had lost a couple of players and Carmody was fighting to keep his job. Sanjay's Mom said that they loved Carmody. And we can be grateful as well because he wouldn't have been able to help us get to the tournament this year. Everyone feeling the love now?

The SI article talks about him being a passive recruiter who skipped the Kaminsky visit.

I was a big Carmody fan but I love what Collins has done. After I watched the first game he ever coached at NU, all I could think was this guy is crazy trying to play man to man and pick and roll at NU. He'll either pull this off or flame out spectacularly bc he can't get players who can play the way he wants to. Job well done coach.

I was a big Carmody fan but Collins, in his first game, had me at "Tre, pass the fxxxing ball."

The stunned looked on Tre's face still cracks me up.
