Stuck between a rock and a hard place…

What does it mean that so many detest two of the best college football teams in the country? It didn't used to be this way. Frankly, I could give a crap about this game. It's like college football has been taken over by 12 or so gangs of highly paid thugs to bring glory to their universities? Is this what NU aspires to? I'll take the Ivy League any day.

Is this honestly any different than it’s ever been?

Truly a nightmare scenario. The two teams I hate most in the world. I hope the earth opens up and swallows them both. This is sickening.

Damn you Texas
So all that “Ohio State is the worst” talk was so much crap. You either hate the Buckeyes above all else or you don’t.

The Ohio State fans are the worst I’ve dealt with, either at Ryan Field or at the Horseshoe. Non-alum Notre Dame fans are pretty obnoxious, too.

But I’ll cheer for OSU because they are from the Big Ten.
Was that a Bronx cheer?

Here we run into two different kinds of detesting. dOSU because, well they are dOSU that represents some of the worst aspects of the sport and closer to SEC in that regard, Then there is ND. The dislike there is more because of the relationship with NU and how they are held up and compared to NU as if the standards and constraints are the same. (Plus the effects of the transfer portal and how they have been able to routinely fleece us of some of our best players or longer ago the taking of Parsegian). Basically there is a whole lot of built in advantages for both programs that we will never sniff and seeing them playing for this honor is just rubbing salt in the wounds, especially with what we have endured over the last couple years

It was really bad in the distant past and then there was an attempt to break their stranglehold (prominent teams being able to control all the top talent) by reducing scholarship limits and more sharing of revenues. But now we seem to be going in the rich get richer direction to a degree never seen before

True on a number of levels in our society. It is not good and getting worse.

No way! The rich are not getting richer. It’s the opposite. It’s just they had so bunch more money than everyone in the past, no one notices the gap closing.
