Is this honestly any different than it’s ever been? What does it mean that so many detest two of the best college football teams in the country? It didn't used to be this way. Frankly, I could give a crap about this game. It's like college football has been taken over by 12 or so gangs of highly paid thugs to bring glory to their universities? Is this what NU aspires to? I'll take the Ivy League any day.
Truly a nightmare scenario. The two teams I hate most in the world. I hope the earth opens up and swallows them both. This is sickening.Ohio Shame versus Notre Shame.
Can we say “meteor”?
So all that “Ohio State is the worst” talk was so much crap. You either hate the Buckeyes above all else or you don’t.Truly a nightmare scenario. The two teams I hate most in the world. I hope the earth opens up and swallows them both. This is sickening.
Damn you Texas
it’s similar but more unpalatable now because the big money is all out in the open on the field basicallyIs this honestly any different than it’s ever been?
Was that a Bronx cheer? The Ohio State fans are the worst I’ve dealt with, either at Ryan Field or at the Horseshoe. Non-alum Notre Dame fans are pretty obnoxious, too.
But I’ll cheer for OSU because they are from the Big Ten.
Here we run into two different kinds of detesting. dOSU because, well they are dOSU that represents some of the worst aspects of the sport and closer to SEC in that regard, Then there is ND. The dislike there is more because of the relationship with NU and how they are held up and compared to NU as if the standards and constraints are the same. (Plus the effects of the transfer portal and how they have been able to routinely fleece us of some of our best players or longer ago the taking of Parsegian). Basically there is a whole lot of built in advantages for both programs that we will never sniff and seeing them playing for this honor is just rubbing salt in the wounds, especially with what we have endured over the last couple yearsWhat does it mean that so many detest two of the best college football teams in the country? It was really bad in the distant past and then there was an attempt to break their stranglehold (prominent teams being able to control all the top talent) by reducing scholarship limits and more sharing of revenues. But now we seem to be going in the rich get richer direction to a degree never seen beforeIs this honestly any different than it’s ever been?
True on a number of levels in our society. It is not good and getting worse. It was really bad in the distant past and then there was an attempt to break their stranglehold (prominent teams being able to control all the top talent) by reducing scholarship limits and more sharing of revenues. But now we seem to be going in the rich get richer direction to a degree never seen before
No way! The rich are not getting richer. It’s the opposite. It’s just they had so bunch more money than everyone in the past, no one notices the gap closing. It was really bad in the distant past and then there was an attempt to break their stranglehold (prominent teams being able to control all the top talent) by reducing scholarship limits and more sharing of revenues. I will do it for ECat. I hope Notre Dame wins by 50.So all that “Ohio State is the worst” talk was so much crap. You either hate the Buckeyes above all else or you don’t.
Root for the Big Ten.Ohio Shame versus Notre Shame.
Can we say “meteor”?
Oh I hate them more than ND. But ND is next.So all that “Ohio State is the worst” talk was so much crap. You either hate the Buckeyes above all else or you don’t.
My Mom - Notre Dame Grad (St. Mary's)I will root for the B1G team. Mostly I just want to see a well-played football game without a lot of dumb stuff.
You are truly doing God's work.My Mom - Notre Dame Grad (St. Mary's)
My Dad - Notre Dame Grad
My wife - Notre Dame Grad
Son #1 - Notre Dame Grad
Son #2 - Notre Dame Grad
Only Daughter - Ohio State Grad
Sister - Ohio State Grad
Me - Northwestern Grad
Side Note: Ohio State's football academic standards are every bit the equal of Notre Dame's. The Buckeye's are much stronger than people outside the program give them credit for. Notre Dame's are nowhere near what they would like people to believe. It's a toss up between the two.
Anybody but Notre Dame for me. But especially against a BIG team. Says the guy who attends ND games and sits with/roots for the visitors.

Not following why it sucks. If OSU wins, my daughter and I are respectfully happy, and the ND family side is gracious. If ND were to win, my daughter and I will be disappointed, but happy for our loved ones. My greatest blessing in life is that we're a very tight knit family.Man, it sucks to be you GOUNU.
I hate get beaten like a drum every year by OSU and their condescending fans. I have no B1G pride and wouldn’t root for OSU unless they were playing Tennessee or Mississippi. Go Irish !!!!
It sucks because you are a NU graduate. LOL. You’ll get to see a a win either way, but NU isn’t in the conversation. Not following why it sucks. As for OSU pounding the Cats time after time, I got over that years ago.
