After Nebraska's late obliteration of Indiana on Friday, the Cats have moved into a tie for fourth place in the Big Ten.

They're tied with 11 other teams.

Yes, every team has now played one home game and one away game and 12 of the 18 teams are 1-1. Michigan State (Cats play them 1/12 in Evanston), Michigan (1/19 in Ann Arbor) and UCLA (3/3 in Evanston) are the only 2-0 teams.

Good for the huskers.

This might be the year the B1G has only one of three or four top 25s by the time we get to mid January. We did ourselves no favors in the non-cno.

So do you think Northwestern will make the conference tourney in March? I was looking at it (going to one of those is a bit of a bucket list item) and was reminded that only the top 15 teams play in the tourney, while the last three stay home. Yes, it's very likely that NU will finish in the top 15, but it would be miserable for a fan to make plans to attend and then not have his/her team qualify.

The 2028 conference tourney is in Las Vegas. That will be fun.

I turned the Indiana/Nebraska game on with about 10 minutes left. It was 64-64.

Nebraska trounced the Hoosiers 21-4 from there.
Goode made a 3 and Reneau made a free throw.
Thats it.
85-68 final.

Malik Reneau played 20 minutes and took 6 shots.
Reneau is a good player - he wasn't getting the ball unless he rebounded somebody's missed shot.
Mackenzie Mgbako played 13 minutes and took 4 shots. Never saw him on the court.
Trey Galloway looked like a YMCA player in a college game.

Nebraska's top scorer, Bryce Williams, poured in 30. He started college in the fall of 2019.

That would be 6 seasons. Is this the last of the Covid seasons? I'll be glad when that is done.

Auburn is annihilating Ohio State 49-21 at halftime.
John Broome has 17 points, 5 offensive rebounds, 9 defensive rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 1 block and no turnovers... at halftime.
And Auburn didn't score a point from 12:22 to 5:42, but still put up 49.

Purdue lost to Texas A&M in Indianapolis 70-66.
Purdue was held scoreless from 11:34 to 4:44 in the 2nd half.
Texas A&M was led by Pharrel Payne, who played his prior two seasons at Minnesota - and like many others transferred into the SEC.
6 of 6 from the floor, 6th man for the Aggies, 16 pts, 9 rebounds.
Braden Smith 15 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 blocks!, 6 turnovers.

Purdue and Ohio State are both beatable for NU.

We'd better beat Ohio State.

Butler has gone off the rails after that impressive tourney win over the Cats and then 25th ranked Mississippi State. Blown out by 28, scoring just 51 points, at Houston; Lost at home to North Dakota State in a game they trailed by double digits most of the way, and then today, trailing Wisconsin the whole way. So I don't know if the transitive thing will work re: the Badgers but they are a solid team for sure.

Illini beating #1Tennessee, so there is that

I live in IN and end up, because of that, watching more IU basketball than I should.

In very broad terms they don’t play smart. At all. That’s been, IMO, a trait of every single Woodson IU team. They seem clueless to where their advantages are. Aggressively dumb ball.
