Most of us would have probably liked to have seen oliver for a series but give fitz credit for sticking with thorson.
using vitale in motion as a blocker against duke or using him as a great downfield threat has really developed into a more comfortable thorson.
And Thorson's throws against ball state were very interesting. Not saying he cant regress but that second half with the game on his shoulders proved him a winner. Very very interesting insomuch that he has already showed much better than any redshirt freshmen qb on NU that i have ever seen.

Huh? Did I miss the poll on this? OK, you added the weasel qualifier "probably" but honestly what would one series have proved?

I can't believe I'm about to say this, after last year, but I have full confidence in the coaches to decide what to do with the QB position. That doesn't mean I won't pi$$ and moan if CT causes us to lose to UM/Hardblow, but on balance, I think the kid is going to win a lot more games than lose for us in the next 3.66 years.

Meantime, I hope he is closely studying the film of his mistakes. He needs to treat that ball like it is his only copy of his final exams/term papers.

Thorson had some nice throws (should have had a few more), but needs to put a little more air on some of his passes to help out the receiver.

Bad 1st half and some missed open receivers, but not really worried about that.

More concerned about whether the NU receivers will get open (like they did against BSU's secondary) and whether the O-line will continue to give Thorson a decent pocket against better defenses.
