They don’t have to wait for public articles, just the formal hearing at the conclusion of the Title IX investigation to establish cause.

I bet Colorado is breathing a sigh of relief over what could have been.
Good Gawd, what could he possibly have thought he was doing. Man, oh man!
NU only owes Fitz 40 million. You think he will get multiple times that?To me the Clown show that is run by our administrators is beyond the scope of absurd. NU will sweep this under the table with hush payments to the ex-players who are disgruntled little boys and Fitz will get an out of court settlement in the hundred of millions range. Nothing at NU changes and the true perps in the administration will continue on because our BOT are spineless academics.
Quite a world where we can say “only $40 million.” I could see him suing for more if he feels there was slander or libel or whatever the legal term, the fallout of which could severely limit his future employability and earnings.NU only owes Fitz 40 million. You think he will get multiple times that?
Has he filed a lawsuit yet?NU only owes Fitz 40 million. You think he will get multiple times that?
My conspiracy machine time alarm is dinging…The more I read about this the more I feel like Tucker is getting railroaded by a crazy. It sounds like they had a relationship with countless calls and she’s alleging sexual assault from phone sex all while wishing him a happy Father’s Day weeks later. Something doesn’t add up.
Check your DM. I’ve got a wild theory that I don’t want to share on the board. You can validate it given your law background.Has he filed a lawsuit yet?
Spill the beans, it would make for a wild discussion.Check your DM. I’ve got a wild theory that I don’t want to share on the board. You can validate it given your law background.
CMT and Bob on the DM! I can think of 2-3 others that would really make the discussion wild.Spill the beans, it would make for a wild discussion.
The main difference is the number of people that need to be involved. And I thought our football program was a clusterf&$/?
That's what Tucker apparently did.Spill the beans, it would make for a wild discussion.
We only solved one of the most urgent ongoing mysteries by joining forces.CMT and Bob on the DM! I can think of 2-3 others that would really make the discussion wild.
I don't believe it.We only solved one of the most urgent ongoing mysteries by joining forces.
There's nothing to ignore.Ok.
Some of us can’t IGNORE the Truth.
Why is this title IX?They don’t have to wait for public articles, just the formal hearing at the conclusion of the Title IX investigation to establish cause.
Why is this title IX?
Blame BobI'm confused.
Are we freeloaders allowed to discuss Mel Tucker again?
What about Carl Richardson?
Is Coral now standing tall as a modern day JFK?

Or is this thread going to be shut down in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1....
That is insanely funny, nominated for post of the year!He should have just paid by the minute, like I do.
How can you assure that LSU and A&M will have head coaches who masturbate on a phone call with a sexual assault victim? Is this a common occurrence in your world? My conspiracy machine time alarm is dinging…
MSU saves $77M by firing him for cause and “settles” with her for a fraction of that (5% finder’s fee? Round up to $4M).
Despite Tucker’s claims… she will get the public’s benefit of the doubt, especially given the awful stuff she’s been through.
LSU & A&M are watching closely and taking notes. Both on our situation and MSU’s. They could save a lot of money.
LSU just has to have Kelly kill another kid while videotaping practice and they’ll have an out. It’s probably sadly just a matter of time. How can you assure that LSU and A&M will have head coaches who masturbate on a phone call with a sexual assault victim? Is this a common occurrence in your world?
@#$% the RockFreeloading off a Rock thread.
I'm no fan of Tucker or MSU, but if she was an unwilling participant in the phone sex, why didn't she just tell him to take a hike and hang up. Suspect MT's lawyer will ask that question. The more I read about this the more I feel like Tucker is getting railroaded by a crazy. It sounds like they had a relationship with countless calls and she’s alleging sexual assault from phone sex all while wishing him a happy Father’s Day weeks later. Something doesn’t add up.
There was a long article in the NYTimes about that question a few weeks back. The rape victims reported feeling powerless and unable to react due to the shock and strangeness of the circumstances even though another part of their brains said flee and fight back.I'm no fan of Tucker or MSU, but if she was an unwilling participant in the phone sex, why didn't she just tell him to take a hike and hang up. Amen.Just as I am reluctant to opine on the right/propriety of a woman's decision to abort an unwanted pregnancy (being male I find it hard to identify or empathize with the woman who has to make that difficult choice), I find it difficult to criticize the way a sexual harassment victim reacts to that harassment -- particularly in a case where the victim had previously experienced a sexual trauma far more invasive than the subsequent conduct she faced from Mr. Tucker.
Exactly. Not to mention, there is a power dynamic at play here. This woman was being paid to work for Michigan State as a consultant. If you're worried about the current job and how your reaction would affect your ability to get future jobs, you might just go with it for as long as you could take it out of fear. Women have gone centuries being abused with no repercussions for the abuser, so it may not be so easy to just say "take a hike" when it means possibly losing your job and no one will believe you anyway.Just as I am reluctant to opine on the right/propriety of a woman's decision to abort an unwanted pregnancy (being male I find it hard to identify or empathize with the woman who has to make that difficult choice), I find it difficult to criticize the way a sexual harassment victim reacts to that harassment -- particularly in a case where the victim had previously experienced a sexual trauma far more invasive than the subsequent conduct she faced from Mr. Tucker.
They had dozens upon dozens of phone calls, including late at night. I don’t know which exactly are alleged to be the issue, but it’s all phone calls….I thought I read it happened on two phone separate phone calls? Was that not the case? If so, that would make her reaction ever more difficult to comprehend.
