Big loss given his recruiting chops. Key to find an A+ replacement.

I think Northwestern needs to realize that when you have challenges like admissions, pedigree and size, we need to pay above median rate for assistant coaches in order to attract the best.

I’m quite certain we would pay top dollar for a professor who is willing to teach undergrads and have the best facilities for research.

Our coaches should be thought of in the same way. I’m not talking head coaching salaries but our assistant coaching pool.

So you don't think that, per Occam's razor, the simplest solution is the correct one? Guy had an offer to coach in the NFL and that was better than coaching college kids? Sheesh.......

A young energetic coach from another P5, he was likely to be on the rise. We’re just not used to our coaches being hired away even after success. We had Jerry Brown and Hank who just wanted to retire here. We have Ayeni and McGarigle who are alums.

He was only here for a year, right? He may be good but it’s not like he has been a crucial piece of our past strong defenses.

Recruiting was my main concern, wasn’t he with Fitz on a lot of those late visits?
