Ya know, I've met a lot of Mormons in the year and a half that I've lived in Utah and everyone of them condemns the polygamy thing as an apostate, radical heresy. As I understand it there are a few communities way out in the mountains, mostly in Colorado where the LDS church has less sway where this still exists but the LDS church condemns it openly.
It's just not that funny of a joke.

I gotta admit, since I've been skiing in Snowbird & Alta, UT for the last 43 years, that the early Mormon/Brigham Young life style jokes still hold some well deserved rep; however in today's politically correct public forums, it's continued references are more cruelty by those uninformed bigots outside the UT community.

However, in counter-point, when an extremely popular UT based beer company, Wasatch Brewing Co., can go one step beyond by marketing one of its most popular brews with the name, Polygamy Porter, it's a sign that even the stolid Mormon community can take a good chuckle at their history.
