Well, Barryn Sorrell flat-out told me for the second time yesterday that he has not committed to Northwestern. He is still maintaining that the published story of his commitment was because of a "misunderstanding" between the reporter and his coach. He also said he would be announcing his commitment "soon." I doubled back with a source and asked if he was SURE Sorrell committed. I haven't received an answer yet.
I still believe that Sorrell is committed and will announce soon. I had two sources tell me on Friday that Sorrell had already pulled the trigger. Maybe he's waiting for Memorial Day? Some specific date that means something to him? Is he waiting for an edit? I don't know.
But between Sorrell and Coral's mystery commit that has yet to pop, I just have one question: can't anyone just straight-up commit anymore?
