I agree that facility upgrades had little if anything to do with Law attending NU. It was the coaching change that did it. Also I had previously said that I feel that the facility upgrades were promised to Collins, in order to get him aboard. An unwritten story about Law is that he and his family knows exactly what he is getting with the NU degree.
Last year on selection Sunday night, when we were on here predicting a run of Big Ten Championships and string of tournaments, Law was in his apartment emailing a hiring manager to confirm his internship.
I'm going to wager not one other basketball player on a tournament team did the same.
Yes, Collins made the difference. But the promise of a facilities upgrade never factored in. The education is far more important.
What does one do with a degree in Learning and Organizational Change?

"Would you like me to supersize those fries?"What does one do with a simple undergraduate degree these days...

That would be a fine start. Hopefully it also covers not making stupid assumptions. Not mock the career choices of others, for a start.

Again what enhanced facilities happened while Carmody was here? Oh, I remember a minor locker room upgrade. Got it. What else. I would bet that NU needed to promise certain things like the new scoreboards and possibly a major upgrade to W-R in order to get Collins.

Yes, academics were a plus when Law was considering NU but his father said that he wouldn't have committed to the Cats if Carmody was the coach. That's a fact.Wasn't just the locker-rooms, but the meeting rooms, team lounge, etc.
And as minor as they were, the renovations turned the everyday facilities from being a total embarrassment (where coaches would make up excuses to not show them to recruits - you don't think that was a problem - lol), to something that they could at least show recruits.
Having everyday facilities that bad showed recruits how much the school cared (or didn't care) about BB.
There you go again, downplaying anything that has to do with BC, including the importance of Lumpkin to last year's team.
Agree that education was the reason why Law's family was looking at NU in the first place.
Still, when the everyday facilities are that bad, it does give recruits some pause.
