Would love to see if he can play WR but I don’t know if he ever has, and whether knowing the playbook as QB1 prepares you well to run those routes as a WR. Moreover if he misses most of spring for baseball then I don’t see how he can learn the WR position well enough.

I think the article’s suggestion that he’ll likely return to the Wildcat package QB makes sense since it’s a very small set of plays to know for someone who’s splitting time between 2 varsity sports.

Marcus Romain is incoming, while we have another QB Aiden Gray who will be a RS soph. But it’s clearly Lausch and Boe competing for QB2 at this time.

Mostly, he wasn’t actually very effective in the ‘package for him’ role in ‘23. Four yards per carry. But that was a Bajakian offense and we have seen that Lujan’s is far more creative… 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

IMHO, he's proven to the team and himself that he's an average QB but a very good runner. If he can catch, he could contribute a lot more to the team at WR than he can at QB. The great D'Wayne Bates path to success on the field, I believe... if only Lausch can catch nearly so well...

Agree. He had one long run against UTEP and was under 2ypc the rest of the season. However, most of those runs were that stupid wide sweep in short yardage where everyone knew what was coming. Porter is also ineffective in the Wildcat.

Jack Lausch is obviously a great athlete. The coaches just need to put him in plays where he can succeed.

Somebody like Aidan Gray who has been passed by multiple younger players ought to be shown the door.

He gets 4 years to complete his degree if he wants to stay. That was the deal when we recruited him and offered him a scholarship and the right thing to do is to honor that pledge, regardless of how he has developed as a player.
