Where we stand post-Washington debacle

The bye is well needed. We have zero margin for error now. Must beat IU next at home, Maryland on the road, Wisconsin at home and then Purdue on the road later in the season to bowl. None of the others feel winnable if we’re being honest. And this is assuming Cam plays and is Cam again. We don’t force turnovers like we did last year because of limited CB depth and our quarterbacks appear to be extremely limited.

He won games with Fitz players. His recruiting stinks and he hired a dud OC and completely botched the QB position in the off-season.

Hes not a Big Ten quality head coach and the Cats need to replace him ASAP.
Fitz’s players won a grand total of 4 games for 2 years in a row so give me a break. 51 also left us with no real QBs since Thorson. Braun gets this season and next before I’m giving up on him. Absurd.

My last post and then I'm done for the night. Our administration has to understand that athletes at this level aren't students anymore. We either are going to have a program at this level and make the necessary changes to admitting athletes or we should just drop football.
What are you talking about? The same STUDENT-athletes won 8 games last year including the bowl. The difference is we have incompetence playing QB this season, it appears.

Defense still looks solid. Was a winnable game from the perspective of how the defense played.

Offense needs a lot of work all around.

Also, I don't think you can extrapolate this offensive performance to the rest of the season. A lot of the offensive problems are things that I don't think repeat every game. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think we go 2-10 this year.

Challenge Mode: Say Something Nice About the Offense

Your challenge is to say something legitimately positive about the offense. You cannot use an underhanded compliment that is actually an insult, but you may damn with faint praise or by omission.

I’ll go first:

Jack Lausch has a lot of heart out there and deserved more completions than he ended up with.

The offensive line is probably better than it could have been given the lack of experience entering the year and all the injuries, especially in pass pro.

Mostly agreed… Lausch stood in there and made the right decision more often than not. The 2Q layup INT is inexcusable, but otherwise he stood in there and competed. Perfection isn’t to be expected of him right now, the guys around him will have to pick up some slack. And they flat out didn’t.
