Once we get to 16, which is coming, it’s going to be open season on middling tier power conference teams making it. Northwestern, Minnesota, Arkansas, etc very much on the table in a good year.I think the 12 team system with only 5 AQ’s is much better, but I would agree with your postulation that the B1G 4 auto bids would be better for Northwestern’s prospects of making the CFP. Supposedly if this goes through the B1G would keep the conf champ game as 1 vs 2 with both teams already having clinched a spot, then add 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5 on that weekend as play in games. So if NU just finishes in the top 6 they’d get a play in game to make the CFP.
Again, I don’t think this proposed system is a smart or fair or healthy move for college football overall, but with a narrow NU fan viewpoint I could see why some might like it…
This isn’t complaining for the sake of complaining, this is just more bad management. This would be incompetence from any ticket and loyalty program in any major sport team. And I say that as somebody who laughs at the people who complain about our ticket prices and the like. Just another thing about athletics that’s not well run under the hood.C'mon guys, are we just complaining for the sake of complaining?
I'm sure donors will have access to tickets prior to any general public sale. Tix will also be available through Alumni Association. I'm also Cubs STH and I think the pre-sale for that last year was 2 weeks after my NU slot.
BTW, I'm assuming your concern is for Michigan game because Minnesota will probably draw 28K with $5 tix available on the resale market the week of the game.
