FOOTBALL Indiana's Transfers...

IU "D"- 9 starters are transfers! 5 backups are transfers.
IU "O"- 7 starters are transfers! 9 backups are transfers.
Special teams- 2 transfers.
That is 32 additions to their roster with some fair amount of money involved. Do we want to do this? No way for me. I think it is absolutely immoral and unethical. But to compete what is the answer, if there is one?

Boo York, Boo York

That sounds correct from my reading. I suppose part of my confusion is that the Knicks training camp started a week ago afaik, so it seems late in the game to bring a guy in. I assume Boo's headed for a G league deal.

One of the things that stood out for me over the summer league games were just how many guys he was competing with were in their third or fourth season of summer league tryouts, or were 'much' older ex-starter/bench guys trying to get back on a team. So he was competing against a lot of experienced guys

Really good X thread on the fan base/temp stadium ticket situation

Huh, the game was a sell out. Those Indiana people weren’t sitting in the last 5 rows of the stadium. They were sitting in prime seats originally bought by long term ST holders. They weren’t buying these seats from NU, they were buying on the secondary market.
Maybe the people who buy tickets to attend games have been priced out in favor of those who buy tickets not to attend.

Exactly. NU "fans" cashing in on a game they figured NU would lose. Just wait until Wisconsin comes to town.....

Here's my understanding of Exhibit 10 contracts:

It's a non-guaranteed contract that teams use to bring in additional players for Summer League and Training Camp. He signed with the Suns, played on their SL team, then was waived and became a free agent again. Now he's signed with the Knicks and will go through their Training Camp. The best case, but highly unlikely, scenario is he makes the team. The next best case would be the Knicks offer him a two-way contract and he goes to their G-League team, but could be brought up and play with the Knicks for a limited number of games during the season. The most likely outcome is he is waived after training camp. At that point the Knicks could offer him a spot on their G League team or another NBA team could offer him a G League spot or he could go overseas.

Whats the insurance situation down there?
I'm imagining you either "self-insure" (no insurance) or you pay hefty (ungodly?) premiums to not-so-reputable insurers who may not be there if you need them...

Or is the federal government carrying all of this?
Insurance is available, currently. However, with the continued storms, it is going to get harder and harder to find. Prices are up meaningfully. Not sure how anyone will continue to insure ground level homes close to the shore with water levels and floods/surge increasing. More and more people are on the coast, and more density means more losses during storm season. We happen to be elevated (stilted) so we are mostly worried about the winds. Self insurance works if you don't have a mortgage. A lot of people who live on the coast have been in these homes for a long time, are not wealthy and will struggle to rebuild and pay high insurance premiums.
