NATIONAL SIGNING DAY - FEBRUARY WINDOW

It's National Signing Day, again! The Wildcats signed their first 15 commits in the early December window that has become the de facto signing date, but just one of those signees was an offensive lineman as doubt was cast over offensive line coach Kurt Anderson's job security. The doubt proved true and Anderson and the program parted ways in early January. The Wildcats have since reportedly signed Bill O'Boyle and quickly set out to bolster their class.

Now, for the second, traditional window, the Wildcats are poised to add two more scholarship offensive linemen: Ezomo Oratokhai and Dennis Rahouski.

They also hold six commitments from preferred walkons, which you can track here: PWO Tracker

Walkons will not legally sign today or ahead of their arrival to campus as LOIs are a legal document directly tied to financial aid awards, but it is common for PWOs to take part in the tradition of NSD at their schools in a ceremonial fashion.

"Returning production" article

I can't see it, because it's a premium article ( @CoralSpringsCat please note). From the comments, supposedly we are 6th (and Mich 128th!!) But I don't get it. Several key performers missing and several more quiet about their plans. My only non-Rock inkling is Braun saying he didn't have any more scholarships, and this quiet/free thread on INU.

PWO

Pardon my ignorance but would someone please explain to me why each of our new commitments are listed as ‘PWOs’? Does this mean they do not get scholarships? Does it mean we will be recruiting other ‘scholarship’ players for the same roster positions? Are ‘PWOs’ (Zeke, if you are reading this, you were great) signing a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ thing vs signing scholarship players?

FB RECRUITING Call with PWO commit WR Drew Wagner

We're going to have content over the next few days from most of the PWO commits but a few quick notes from my call with Drew Wagner:

-He was not an immediate flip to Northwestern and still visited Navy after the PWO offer. Planned to become a Midshipman until his visit to NU and it felt like home. A few other P4 schools tried to get involved with PWOs but weren't at his academic standard.

-He's from Braun's alma mater, Kettle Moraine, and his current head coach played with Braun back in the day. Said Braun made sure to tell him this wasn't just a favor for his alma mater.

-He visited with Cam Russell, a wide receiver from Milwaukee (Wisc.) Marquette, who also committed on a PWO today.

-He's the first ever recruit/commit I've had make sure that he's not the only one being interviewed. He's a two-star, the other PWO guys are unranked, and he didn't want them excluded.

Hilariously, NU hasn’t even updated the coaches on the official roster… …?

Check that.

NU just has no offensive coordinator and no defensive coordinator.

“Hey coach, this is Zach Lujan, OC at Northwestern. Interested in your QB. Tell me about him.”
“This is…who?”
“Zach Lujan, OC at Northwestern.”
“The purple Northwestern? Big Ten Northwestern?”
“Yup. Las Vegas Bowl winners. That one.”
“I’ve got their site up. David Braun’s the head coach. And Northwestern doesn’t *have* an offensive coordinator.”

Yeesh.

Pretty two-bit stuff. Anderson, MacPherson, still listed. Bajakian is off the list. McGarigle still listed as LB only. Just lame.

(Note: This is ‘2023’. However, there is no ‘2024’ available.)
