Who else uses the 3 man DL in the Big Ten, particularly among our remaining opponents? The OL was a sieve either without a clue who to block or unable to get in front of anyone. Surely NU has faced 3 man fronts before, but it occurs to me that it must be impossible at NU's practices to simulate a talented attacking DL.

So if the defensive is given as much time as necessary to sub after the offensive has…how does that work with fire drill FGs, where the offense is rushing out the fg unit to kick as time expires. Can’t the defense just run their own subs and empty the clock every single time?

It is time to allow Fitzball die its peaceful death, finally, and then completely overhaul the offensive side of the ball. Sooner the better. That said, if NU has Bryant back, we coulld well win some more games, but that is not the point. If I were Braun, I would let Bajakian go tomorrow and thus solidify his position as permanent head coach.

The two best teams in the state faced off today in Wilmette today.
#2 LA beat #1 Mt. Carmel in a great game to finish season undefeated. Little Fitz (Ryan) was star of the game (2 TD’s ) and had tons of good plays. Very well played game by both teams.

I’d take either team against Northwestern or Nebraska!

The TV caught a picture of Sullivan's face just prior to kickoff and he looked like he had just swallowed a canary. Looked like a very nervous rookie. Then he proceeded to drop the snap in the first series. Later in the game he looked like he was competing. Guess that 80k plus in Lincoln got to him. Part of the process.

For as much as Fitz preached physicality, this team (especially the offense) just doesn’t have any of it. At all. Our offensive line just can’t slow down anyone. Nebraska was bringing 5 every time because they know they would win at least one of the 1v1’s upfront every snap.

The DL and receivers coaches are doing a great job. Johnson, Kirtz and Henning are good. The DL is improved. Fitz picked some good coaches. Just a bit late.

I was flipping between games and would see other teams give their QB some time to find someone.

Poor Sully was running for his life from the snap.

9 sacks!

Sullivan is actually a better QB than we think, or so it seems to me, you can't expect him to do it all.

Amazed we won three games.

Oh well.
