The quest for OL’s continue…Broderick Roman from EMU is the latest to receive an NU offer. Looks like he’s a Center. Grad transfer with two years of eligibility. Has gotten a number of P4 offers including Stanford. He’s a Michigan kid of Okemos HS.

One of my former players from 17 years ago just texted me " the Chargers just executed that fair catch free kick thing you taught us back in high school. SMU received the "death penalty" 40 years ago. After leaving the SWC, they have been searching for a return to a major conference but were rejected by the Big Eight, SEC, B1G, PAC in the past. The ACC extended a contingency offer , that precluded ACC network/conference funding. SMU's AD got on the phone and in less than a week got commitments of more than $100 million . ACC then "generously" accepted SMU.

SMU is a good academic school , rated above about 1/2 the B1G according to USN&WR but it is not an AAU member.(nor is Nebraska)

I was hoping the B1G would consider SMU, accessing the Texas market for both financial and recruiting benefits.

I believe SMU's admission standards for athletes is at the NCAA minimum level but it only has about 7,000 undergraduates,comparable to NU.

Ford Stadium's capacity is about the same size of the new Ryan Field, located on campus with The Boulevard pregame festivities featuring boots and sundresses

I only wish NU's BOT and Administration would support athletics like SMU's did

Jaheem Joseph is in the portal after one year at West Virginia. I wonder if he has interest in returning to NU (and if the coaches have interest in him returning to NU). I'd love to add him to the secondary which is losing both starting safeties in Azema and Turner.

And it won't open again until mid-April. Obviously, total guesses from all of us, but we already have four transfers (including Stone, though not official yet) that are going to be coming in. How many more are you hoping for by 12/28 and how many do you think we'll land by 12/28?

I'm hoping we land 6-7 more, but I'll guess we actually land 4 more by 12/28.

Can we talk about the next breakout star in the NBA? Wemby was the main attraction for the host country during the Olympics. Will he bring home gold in 2028? I’m looking forward to watching his game develop over the next four years.
