75% Chance David Braun is not the HC when the new Ryan Field Opens

Good Lord, I thought your original post was sarcasm. It took a grand total of one loss this year before the the lunacy starts. Braun literally saved NU from being a complete laughingstock. Can we at least see what he can do with a real NIL program? Next years struggles are on Schill not Braun.
I was hoping all the craziness ended with the election.

I agree with this. Hiring him as the DC was risky, but a reasonable risk that probably would have paid off. But then, everyone got caught up in the emotion of last year and a rash decision was made to hire him as permanent head coach. How could he possibly be ready for a job like that? He's never been a head coach and he wasn't even a coordinator at an FBS program. You're asking the impossible of David Braun!

It's one thing to lead a bunch of the previous guy's recruits with the previous guy's coaches onto the field and keep them motivated to get through a season. That is one thing and he did a great job at it. It's another thing entirely, however, to be the CEO of a major college program and be in charge of it all including bringing in players and hiring the right coaches.
We have a good example of a failing football CEO in Chicago. His team plays at Soldier Field.

Braun has had a rough year. His in game decisions have often been baffling. However, he deserves at least another year to show progress. We aren’t going to be good next year, but if Braun can effectively recruit in the portal this off season and keep the team focused where they actually get better as the season progresses we could have something. If he doesn’t do these things, he will be a short timer. I hope they give him his cash back for the temporary stadium.

It wasn’t a “rash” decision. Almost nobody else even wanted to interview, the only exception was Bronco Mendenhall who was throwing himself at any job opening and eventually took the New Mexico job.

He never actually paid out cash, just promised it if needed.
