I'm totally on board with the doom and gloom. I really hate it but I can't shake the feeling that the rest of the season is going to be ugly.
But is there any chance that even as the defense falls a part the offense will entertain us with some improvement and optimism ?
Hilinski showed improvement between his first appearance and first start. What if during the two week bye time he steps up as the leader the offense has needed. What if he improves with two weeks running the ones and convinces the O to forget the noise about the D and do everything they can to shine in the darkness. There were some nice plays in the Nebraska game on O and if the Line isn't too beat up maybe NUs offense can put something together that will at least make us hopeful for next year. Maybe there can be some exciting games that we won't want to turn off for fear ofmissiong some great plays.
