Who knows if DePaul is good (they're not, right?), but this would shape up as a quality win for them, certainly. It'll help NU's SOS, if only marginally.

Game is on FS1, just like Saturday's, if you're interested.

Blue Demons up by 17 with 5 minutes to go. Forget about all that computer ratings stuff. This tells me, we are better than we all thought. George Washington ranked 20th in the country.

Yeah I think we are better than most of us are giving us credit for. I know we've played some cupcakes, but the wins over DePaul, Mizzou, and VT were all wins that we would have struggled to get in previous years. We need to get JVZ back on the court and I think we can really make some noise. We are able to go deep with just about everyone on our bench being able to contribute.

DePaul by 21. We must be all right.

And DePaul ends up winning by 21. Impressive game for the Blue Demons, hopefully it can be a springboard for a nice run for them.

I still don't feel like we know anything about this team, and won't until the MD/OSU games in a couple weeks. But we've taken care of business 11 times out of 12 in a season where few teams have emerged as consistent. Even that is a huge step in the right direction for Collins.

GW was a paper tiger, ranked for the first time in 10 year following wins over-- wait for it-- Rutgers and Penn State. However, GW was never, ever in this game. Impressive performance by DePaul.

Huh? Wait for it--------they beat #5 Virginia and their long loss was to #22 Cincannati. That's all the more impressive that they beat PSU and Rutgers.

But they were unranked until they won their last three games, no (the two above and St. Peter's? I've only seen them play once-- this evening, and they played badly.

Also, GW's KenPom was 41 going into this evening, just 10 spots above us. And they will likely be below us now....

Beating UVA is impressive regardless of the lens you're using. They're a very solid team who just happened to get smashed by a DePaul club who might be better than what you gave them credit for.

Or it could just be the old "On any given day" thing, who knows? Just looking forward to Big Ten season in a big way.

True. Then again, there's already been some judging about teams in this thread when only seeing them once. So it kinda goes both ways...

I've watched DePaul play four times. They were not terribly impressive in any of those efforts. GW played flat out awful, but give credit to DePaul it was never a game, and it was the best effort of the four games I have seen(slightly better than their effort vs. us), They absolutely sleptwalked in the Stanford game.
