Northwestern (7-3, 1-1 Big Ten) plays Georgia Tech (4-5, 0-1 ACC) today at 3 pm. The matchup between the Wildcats and Yellowjackets is the second game of the MKE Tip-Off tripleheader and will be played at Fiserv Forum, the home of the Milwaukee Bucks. The game will air on BTN.

The big question: will there be any fans there?

The more important question: Will the Cats be rusty after eight days off? Fortunately any rust will be similar for Tech, as they had seven days off since their last game.

I would say there were between 1,000 and 2,000 fans here for the first game -- and that was for the local team, UWM. There are more NU fans than I expected to be here, though -- including AD Mark Jackson. And Georgia Tech even has some fans here. That said, it's going to be very sparsely attended.

It's a strange event. A strange mix of six teams, none of whom are expected to bring many fans. Now, if Marquette and Wisconsin were here, it would be a completely different story and the place would be packed.

There are more people for NU-GT than there were for the first game. But not by much.

Absolutely kid. I'm frustrated by his lack of scoring and a few others things, but the team D is much better with him on the floor, and he's a big reason why.

Kinda watching paint dry offensively for both teams in the 1st half. Ty knocked down a 3 and we are up by 5.
Brooks can start knocking down a couple of shots and run some plays for Martinelli in the 2nd half and go from there.
Really another slow start offensively for NU.

The shots are there. We don’t make them.

Maybe it's my imagination, but I find that NU's opponents rarely call timeouts to stop an NU run. Which makes me think how rare it is NU goes on a run. They might have started the first half and now second half by shutting out Tech, but it's not one basket after another. NU's runs are spread out.

Good start to the 2nd half. Cats up by 12. 38- 26.Leach a big 3. We just gotta start knocking down are close in shots.
Hunger will probably quite a bit as Big Matt on the bench with 3 fouls.

Cats pulling away. Barnhizer hitting some shots Ty with his third 3 of the game the D is very strong Cats up by 20 with just under 8 mins. to go.

Good win. Nice defensive effort. Started off well, lost focus, then righted the ship in the second half. Ty continues to find his rhythm - three big threes and had some other nice looks that just didn’t fall. Brooks found a way to contribute until he found his shot. Nick looked great. I was a little annoyed that Leach started jacking up shots late instead of continuing to run the offense. Wish we’d used the bench more, especially in the second half, to keep kids sharp - but I also understand that this was a must-win.

A workman like win.71- 60. Really not that close.
4 in double figures. BB , NM, JL and TY.
The D was outstanding and really carried the day.
Guys off till Saturday at home against a much improved DePaul team. Let's get off to a good start and defend the home court.
Go Cats.
