Game Thread: Northwestern vs. No. 23 Indiana

I wish NU had lined up a running back on 3rd and 4. Still, consecutive scoring drives.

IU’s got three timeouts and NU hasn’t stopped the pass. Last 70 seconds of the half are huge.

Dinardo on Big Ten today restated his thoughts that Laush is definitely not a big ten worthy quarterback and Wright should be our starter
Anything Dinardo says about NU is shaded by his feeling that his nephew was shorted during his time in Evanston.

Our defense is giving up just way too many plays and too much yardage.

This IU offense is seriously dangerous. NU is playing better but we’ve gotta be able to win games against strong teams in this conference. With the expanding resources the former throwrugs of the conference are going to eat alive the ACC and Big 12 competition and become formidable in their own right.

IU used their time poorly that drive. Second half will start with a chance for NU to tie it.

Go cats go cats go!

Only 7 carries for running backs. 12 pass attempts for Lausch, plus 6 rush attempts. Those last two drives are something to build on.

Giving up 275 yards in the first half it's not a recipe for success in this game

Not to pile on Lujan, but power formation on 2nd down with Himon back there killed the drive.

To say some positive things, Lausch has been the best player on the field for NU’s offense since IU’s first TD and Kirtz has some of his wiggle and mojo back today as a savvy, quick, veteran guy.

Good field position drive if they can get a stop. Offensive line is pretty damn rough.

So Lauch is moving in the pocket sideways, but shuffling his feet like a basketball defender. How can he possibly throw to a breaking open receiver with that footwork?

What is this “open receiver” you speak of?

Forgetting about the offense our defense is just going to exposed in every facet. They will end up with well over 500 yards of offense the way things are going. Really surprising.

Why? The defense has been exposed since OT in the duke game

Unless NU scores on the next drive, the game is over. Indiana appears to have control over this one.

The game is over. Hopefully not a blowout. Surprising how poorly our defense is playing.

That was pretty! Great to see an explosion play
