Will be making the trip to Ryan Field for the game ... is there any good place to watch the 2:30 games around the stadium? Not many choices from google maps ... thanks in advance!!

Buffalo Wild Wings is in a mall a mile and a half away. Downtown Evanston has some chilis type bars and is a mile away.

I don't know if it is still offered, but in the past there has been a large screen set up near the Rocky Miller baseball field that played the later games. It is sort of a private group that ran it but the public was welcome. The baseball field is just north of all the buildings adjacent to Ryan Field.

Thanks guys ... there is an Iowa tailgate party at the American Legion near the stadium, perhaps they allow the public after the game and have some big screens? I have no idea, but I'll at least I'll know exactly where that is ;-)

BW3s or the baseball field sound interesting as well ... Here's to a good game and keep the injury bug away from both teams!

The baseball field and surrounding area is currently cordoned off with chain link fence. Serious construction underway with new dugouts, locker rooms, press box being built. Will open next Spring as part of facilities upgrade. Known as Rocky & Berenice Miller Park now, after family donation.

Thanks for the update. Guess that means no "dollar dog days" this year as well? They used to be served up in the area where the large screen would be positioned

Go to World of Beer in downtown evanston. It's about a 25 minute walk, or a 3 stops on the el. Tons of TVs and more importantly, tons of beer.

Your best bets are to walk West on Central Street to either 10 Mile House or past the tracks to Bluestone. TMH has a larger bar area, but has fewer TVs. Bluestone has more TVs, but they're spread around both the bar and restaurant seating.
