Best on-ball defender on the team and can get to rim effectively. Allows Trey to do what Trey does best...come off the bench as a spark.
X and JHS are the best backcourt in the BIG.

God, this reminds me so much of the saltiness of the LA fans when the Pistons beat them in the finals during the Ben Wallace era. They had a million excuses why they lost in 5, whined about the refs and the physical play.
I get that you don't like that a team forced you to play a more physical game than you would have liked. Frankly, the adjustments in the second half were great, five more minutes in the game and we're toast. The inability to just accept the L with grace is delicious though.

I was banned after one comment that NU is fine without Kopp because Kopp never played defense and NU has other guys who can stand and chuck it.And to think a poster from this board went to IU’s board to apologize on behalf of *our* fanbase. Sad!

I didn’t even have time to point out that IU — such a mighty, historical program — hasn’t won a tournament game in seven years, a longer drought than NU’s.
Now how I (or the announcers) saw it live. There will be no announcement from the conference that the officials missed the call. And as you stated in your only insightful comment, “there are bad calls in every game”. Or is this one of those insidious calls that will cause IU to get beat by St. Mary's by 40 points again in the tournament? I get confused.

I never whined or stated that the officiating cost IU the game...not once.
IU and NU's tenacious D cost IU the game. IU failed to match it.
I have been complimentary of the NU team, didn't blame all NU fans for the vulgarity, stated my concerns for all BIG teams in the dance and tried to help some here with low BBIQ levels to more objectively understand what they were looking at.
I will leave you all to your thoughts.

I was on the G”town medical staff and have posted this before. G’town used their entire roster and played suffocating full court defense. Teams became frustrated and the Hoyas were labeled as being thugs, when it was simply that their opponents could not stand the unrelenting pressure. The Georgetown players were polite and much different than their media persona., including Michael Graham, an intimidating player..

Why can't the "offical review" team look at blatant goaltending calls and simply award two points after the fact. They do it with three pointers. This is simpler.

Don’t you see? He is here to educate us because we obviously do not understand the game as well as he does. How could we? We are just lowly NU grads who just don’t understand the subtleties of the game. And, of course, the refs must be educated also. All the poor uneducated people outside of Indiana are just ruining the experience for the well educated Indiana fans. But of course we are just bias and cannot see the conspiracy.

I think because if you determine it was goaltending the ball should be taken out of bounds, which can’t happen after the fact. Nothing changes with changing a 2 to a 3.

Thats a good point. I guess it only works cleanly if the defending team gains possession as a result of the goaltend, but even then, too many permutations.

Another game, another time a fan base whines about the refs. It’s pretty much what sports has become and I couldn’t be more sick of it.

I may not understand the tactical side of the game, but I’ve watched enough to know that 99% of refs will swallow their whistles with under five seconds left and a tie game unless there’s an actual murder on the court.

You are correct...it is not remotely accurate because it is entirely accurate. Go whine somewhere else.
What cracks me up is the apology (whether or not deserved) went to the least deserving people associated with the game...those that frequent IU message boards.
Love that this guy trying to educate us on how to play basketball is typing from his mom's basement recliner, gut full of Mountain Dew hanging over his knees, and probably hasn't jumped since Lou Watson was head coach at IU. But, go! internet
This is so wrong. The big 12 is way more physical than the big ten.
You have to cut those guys some slack. They are from Indiana. There is nothing else but basketball there, and we just broke them. Let it go and savor the win.
I don’t think they are worse than the Buckeye assholes who are assholes even when they win.
I didn’t like it either, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say Miller gave us 3 great years and we should be grateful to him. Not nearly the same thing, but kind of felt it was on its way to being DocCat material apologizing to Wisconsin fans for winning.
Rightly or wrongly, the students only expressed what I think most Cat fans really think about Miller after he threw his teammates, his coach, and his former team under the bus. It’s not that he transferred but how he did it and what he said. Do I think they should have chanted F U Miller? No, I don’t condone that, because there is something about how you carry and represent yourself and your university, but neither can I be too upset with them for just being transparent and saying what they really think.
