Good for him. Got paid for being loyal to Michigan and playing in the bowl game. Hopefully he has a complete recovery and a long career. Would have been nicer to see him in NU purple though.
I wonder who pays the premiums for these policies - I assume the players family. If so, seems unfair to kids from families that can't afford a policy.
I believe it is now common practice for highly rated players to buy policies like this, and the insurance company can use their estimated future earnings as collateral to pay the premium, Or a bank will lend the money using their future earnings as collateral.
