Here are the final drawings for the Lakefront Athletic Complex. Just a massive facility. You can see the locations of all the locker rooms, training rooms, team rooms, coaches offices, etc. The football weight room will be on the east side opposite the field house, overlooking the lake (wow). Football players will have a lounge lakefront on the east side of the field house endzone (another wow). Dr. Jim will have a brand new office on the Southeast corner of the top floor, should have a spectacular view of the city and the lake, including a terrace to entertain donors on the south side of the building. Fitz's office will be two floors down, also on the SE corner with Chicago and Lake views. Great place to bring recruits and their families to seal the deal!

Packet (Take a minute to download, be patient!)

Just went to the lakefront yesterday to check it out and yes, it is a massive structure!

It took me about 90 seconds to download (and I have very fast broadband), but it was worth every second. What a magnificent structure. Thank you, Mr. Ryan.

And thanks to Fitzphile for posting it!

These drawings really give you a sense of how large this sports facility is. I still hope they paint a giant N on the roof of the facility. Advertizing to everyone flying overhead and a signature for the campus to the world.

Lit up at night, that would be amazing! Definitely cheap advertising / brand awareness reinforcement.

They had to get a zoning variance just to put a larger block N on the entranceway.....imagine what the city Mothers and Fathers would think of a giant N on the roof!;)

Just put the dam thing up there. The Evanston pols are so disinterested in thing NU they will never find out.

Clashes with the Grand Rapids Second Empire architecture of never-misspelled Lunt Hall.

Finally an athletic setting that represents NU proudly. Our recruits are gonna be snowed when this spectacle is finished.

They need to paint a big ass purple "N" on the roof so planes can see it when they fly over it, kinda like the UC

They would enact an annual tax on any publicly-displayed letter of the alphabet larger than 5 feet across or high. For each inch larger than 60" (5 ft) the University would pay $727.18 per annum... both directions.

Ryan Field is already a pretty good view from a plane. Ground lighting around the end zones would really pop at night in the off season.

Actually the City should not care since it would not be visable from any direction.

If the City were to have a problem with it just have the students paint it, like the rock. If Evanston wants it removed just tell them you will get to it on your own sweet time like the City does on other graffiti in town
